Brian Head Resort is just minutes off of Interstate 15 near Parowan, Utah. Whether you are driving from Southern California, Las Vegas, or Utah, you sure to enjoy breathtaking views of Southern Utah.

Road Conditions

KNOW THE ROAD CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU GO, AND PLAN ACCORDINGLY: UDOT road construction on SR-143 (slope stabilization & flood repair) from November 2023 through May 2024. Please refer to UDOT for the latest updates regarding traffic conditions.

Resort Parking

Carpooling is encouraged – please carpool when possible. Remember the free in-town shuttle is available to travel between resort facilities and to and from lodging. View shuttle stops here or call (385) 213-6520 for shuttle operator.

Resort parking is free and available at both the Giant Steps Lodge parking lot and the Navajo Lodge parking lot. Spots are first come-first serve with no reservations required or requested.

Parking Tip – If you prefer beginner terrain or are enrolled in any lessons, park at Navajo Lodge. If you prefer intermediate to advanced terrain – park at Giant Steps Lodge.

Town Shuttle Travel

Brian Head Express Shuttle is an independent shuttle service that offers daily round-trip shuttles from Cedar City to Brian Head Resort, as well as charter transportation to area hotels, cabins, and condos. Running for the 23/24 season from November 10th through April 14th.

Town Shuttle Schedule:

  • Monday through Thursday | Daily – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Friday, Saturday & Holidays* | Daily – 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  • Night Skiing | Fridays, Saturdays & Holidays* – 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm

*Shuttle Holiday Schedule:

  • Christmas: December 16th, until January 1st
  • New Year’s Eve the shuttle will run until 2am
  • Martin Luther King Jr.(MLK): January 13th-15th
  • President’s Holiday: February 18th-21st

In Southern Utah, take Interstate 15 to exit 75 in Parowan, then it’s just a short 14-mile drive up the mountain to Brian Head Resort.

Cedar Breaks Scenic Byway (Hwy. 148) and Rim Road (the road through the park) are closed during winter months.

Approximate drive times from the following locations are:

  • 35 minutes from Cedar City
  • 1 hour from Zion National Park
  • 1.5 hours from St. George
  • 1.5 hours from Bryce Canyon
  • 3 hours from Las Vegas
  • 3.5 hours from Salt Lake City
  • 5 hours from Flagstaff
  • 7 hours from Los Angeles
  • 7 hours from Phoenix
  • 8 hours from San Diego

Travel By Air

Flights in and out of Las Vegas make unforgettable vacations happen. Combine the Entertainment Capital of the World with The Greatest Snow on Earth and you’ve got a fantastic vacation! You can also fly directly to nearby Cedar City or St. George,  Utah. Upon arrival, a rental car will be needed to drive through the canyon to Brian Head Town due to no public transportation offered for canyon travel.

Las Vegas International Airport

Depending on where you are traveling from, Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport offers some of the cheapest flights. From Vegas, you can rent a car or utilize the St. George shuttle service. Brian Head is just 2.5 hours from Las Vegas.

Salt Lake City Airport offers many flight options. You can then rent a car to drive 3.5 hours to Brian Head Resort or take the St. George Shuttle Service.
